Olympic Torch Wends It's Way Through Newmarket
Local School Children lined the street to watch the torch pass by
They were all wearing their I believe tuques
and had flags or placards to wave
as the Runner passed by with the torch

Kathy,
Newmarket has excellent spirit and there is so much revitalization going on there now.
That looks like Main Street?
Brian
Brian - it certainly has a changing face
Hi Kathy..Great Photos, Bob Stewart said he would feature all posts with the Olympic Torch.
Looks Cold there...Burrr!
Fred - Thanks I sent them off as you suggested
That looks like a lot of fun and also very cold. I have always wanted to see the actual torch.
Pretty cool looking torch. Can't wait for it to start, I love watching Winter Olympics.
James - cool but not yet very cold we have been hovering around the freezing mark
Connie - I suspect there will be a lot of TV's tuned to the Olympics here in Canada
Kathy,
Beautiful photos! I love the hats....
Jo
Jo - it was a sea of red as they walked from the school to the torch route
So, do you think there will be a new market in Newmarket? Yes? No? Tell me, I am all ears!
Kyle - the market is new every day as long as there are forces for change it will contine to be so.
Great photos. I personally like the winter x games better than the winter olympics. But recently the olympics have been much more fun to watch. I think my problem is that I haven't seen snow in like 12 years. HEHE
Nathan - I can remember one Christmas we were in Florida and it did snow!
Thanks for the photos! I was able to watch the torch go by In Southern California in 1984, what a special moment. But until this day I have never seen a photo of the torch for the winter Olympics, pretty cool, thanks for sharing!
Trevella - My pleasure
New market and a new day for us all! Thank you for your post!
Wendy - and a new year have a Happy New Year
Kathy. had to sign back in when I spotted your post & then almost couldn't type-will take a chance here---those are great photos & I can't wait until the show begins in 2010.
Really like your photo set-up with the snow on the post--is that a bird house or just a weathered post. make me shiver & really hope that maybe this year we will be non-recipients of heavy snow.
You said it snowed in FL ??? we are planning to move there, please tell me you were up near Jacksonville & that it was the year that the Carolinas' got snow too. LOL
Happy New Year to you.
Barb and Sal - it is a bird house, on top of a fence post, in our back yard ... it is one of a dozen or more around the house that we have for our fine feathered friends like R Redbreast Wants Into Real Estate "a parable"
Kathy - Great Newmarket torch run photos. Did they just run through Newmarket or do any speeches or other events?
I need to post my Markham torch run photos and will do so in early January when everyone gets back to blogging. My Pickering torch run photos had much lower traffic than I expected, probably because I posted on Christmas Day.
That's pretty cool! It's going to be an exciting time when the Olympics come!
Marc - sorry i missed your comment I will watch for you Markham run post
Georgia - The excitment is building ... even the children are getting involved and excited
What great and exciting photos!!
Kathy - the excitment was in the children as the torch passed by
